Article Processing Charge
Article Processing Charge (APC)
The Journal of Educational Study (JoES) applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) of IDR 350,000 for each article accepted for publication.
Why Does JoES Apply an APC?
The APC helps support the administrative and operational costs associated with the editorial and publication process. These activities include manuscript administration, coordination of the peer review process, editorial communication, copyediting and formatting, preparation of articles for online publication, website maintenance, and dissemination and long-term accessibility of published articles.
The APC contributes to maintaining the quality, sustainability, and accessibility of the journal's publishing services. It is not a payment for acceptance, and payment does not influence editorial decisions or the outcome of peer review.
When Is the APC Paid?
The APC is payable only after a manuscript has been formally accepted for publication. Authors are not required to pay an APC when submitting a manuscript or while it is undergoing peer review.
Once the manuscript has been accepted, the editorial office will inform the corresponding author of the payment procedure. Authors should complete payment according to the instructions provided by the journal.
Editorial decisions are made independently of payment. A manuscript will not be accepted simply because an author is willing to pay the APC.
APC Waiver Policy
JoES recognizes that some authors may face financial constraints that affect their ability to pay the APC. Authors affiliated with institutions in low-income economies may contact the editorial office to request consideration for a full waiver. Authors from lower-middle-income and upper-middle-income economies may inquire about partial waivers. Requests from authors in high-income economies may also be considered in cases of demonstrated financial hardship.
Country income classifications are used as guidance and do not automatically guarantee a waiver. All requests are subject to the journal's consideration and approval.
Authors can check the current income classification of their country through the official World Bank website:
World Bank Country and Lending Groups: Income Classification
Authors who wish to request a waiver should contact the editorial office, preferably after acceptance but before making payment. The request will be handled separately from the editorial evaluation of the manuscript and will not influence the peer review process or acceptance decision.
